The Dugong :

They live in the seas along the coasts of Asia,  Africa and Australia. They are slow moving animals. They are big animals about three meters long. They live only in water but they are not fish. They are marine mammals. They have thick, wrinkled skin. They feed on sea grass. They are harmless creatures. They use their flippers to come on to the surface to breathe. They live in groups called herds.

They are hunted by sharks, crocodiles and killer whales. But the main threat to them is from humans who hunt them for meat and skin.

Hairy - Nosed Wombat

Some types of wombats are quite common in Australia. But the Hairy - nosed wombat is rare. The Hairy - nosed wombat has bigger ears than other kinds of wombats. They make there own homes by digging tunnels. When they are born, they are so small that it needs special care. Female wombats have pouches just like koalas and kangaroos which they keep there young in for the first three months. When they come out of their pouches they stay near their mother for several months before they can live by them by themselves.
